Part-time non-stipend units of clinical pastoral education are offered once a year at this time.
Program Dates
Internships last approximately six months. Dates are dependent on hospital orientation and quarterly evaluation schedules. Currently, extended internship is being offered beginning in August. Please contact Silvia M. Crowe at sxmisina@sentara.com for availability.
Time Requirements
After two weeks full-time initial orientation the program requires about 20 hours/week and homework as assigned. After orientation, a typical week would include classes from 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays plus 12 hours of hospital ministry time. The 12 hours of ministry time are scheduled during the daytime (between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.) Monday through Friday.
